ART VALUE, Venice Art Bienalle

Year: 2019
Gross built area: 400 m²
Project location: Venice, Italy
Building function: Pavilion interior
Architects: Tomas Grunskis, Raigardas Sinkevičius

Done in collaboration with artist V. Simbelis to develop a space dedicated to the ART VALUE project, as a proposal for the Venice biennale. The design is meant to work simultaneously with the app to exhibit the dynamic changes of the artworks’ values.
The pavilion space is divided using the semi-enclosed shape of a letter U. Inside becomes a main stage for the auctions and presentations. Walls work as a canvas for the projected values, while their semi- transparency allows a visual connection between the auction and gallery visitors. On the other side, against the black wall the completed artworks are displayed. Subtle lighting was chosen in order to reveal only the silhouettes of the art pieces.
