The modernization proposal for Kindergarten “Boružėlė” in Alytus, Lithuania, was developed through a creative workshop with the children themselves. The concept embraces transparency, openness, and flexibility—group spaces are divided into functional zones using movable partitions and curtains, allowing quick transformation for different activities. Lightweight, adaptable furniture—work tables, convertible beds, and dining tables—supports versatile use. Quiet nooks like a “calm cave,” a treehouse with play space beneath, and an attached orangery enrich the environment. A new second-floor addition introduces a discovery space with a winter garden, observatory, and laboratory, complemented by an outdoor terrace with hammocks for seasonal rest and play.
