“Green Leaf” – awarded 4th place – proposes a sustainable masterplan for the Medelynas residential district in Klaipėda. Inspired by living nature’s network structures, the concept integrates urban fabric, streets, and public spaces into a flexible grid, seamlessly linking vibrant city life with surrounding green areas. Compact blocks and multifunctional nodes enable phased development, fostering local businesses, services, and workplaces for up to 2,300 residents. Diverse public spaces—squares, boulevards, parks, and a waterfront promenade—encourage social interaction and active lifestyles. Prioritizing pedestrians, cycling, and renewable energy, the design reinterprets the garden-city idea to create a resilient, inclusive, and future-ready neighborhood.
